Book with Michelle
PACFA-registered therapist | Trauma-informed | Embodied & relational approach
Michelle van Kampen is a clinically registered PACFA psychotherapist and supervisor with more than eight years’ experience working across private practice and community mental health settings. Her clinical work supports individuals experiencing:
- complex trauma, dissociation, and nervous system dysregulation
- domestic and family violence
- sexual assault and relational harm
- longstanding emotional and interpersonal challenges
Michelle works with complex, developmental, and recent trauma through an embodied, relational approach that integrates Gestalt therapy principles with a Polyvagal-informed understanding of the nervous system.
Therapy with Michelle focuses on helping clients reconnect with internal safety, restore nervous system flexibility, and develop meaningful connection — whether working together in the therapy room or alongside horses in an equine-supported setting. Her work is undertaken in professional consultation with international trauma specialist Dr Rebecca Bailey (USA).
Michelle welcomes enquiries from both individuals and professional referrers for room-based and equine-assisted psychotherapy. She is registered to work with clients funded through WorkSafe Victoria, FAS/VOCAT (Victims of Crime), and the NDIS.
If you are seeking therapy personally, or exploring options for someone you support, you are welcome to make contact directly or arrange a brief phone consultation.
